History Of Eco Label

The NCPC Sri Lanka Eco Labeling programme has initiated under 10YFP Consumer Information for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CI-SCP) programme in 2018. The programme started with the training workshop conducted by UN Environment for 25 participants from NCPC-SL and other stakeholder organizations on developing and implementing Eco Labelling programme in Sri Lanka under this project. Resource persons were from UN Environment and Eco-mark Japan. NCPC Ecolabelling Programme is the first national green product certification scheme and the most successful and influential ecolabelling program in Sri Lanka. All NCPC Ecolabel standards include comprehensive sustainability criteria related to the environment, human health, social issues, and fitness for purpose.
